Choco Rice Nom Nom Slice

Sunday Kitchen #181 Choco Rice Nom Nom Slice

Recently I made a variation of the afghan recipe on show 1281 which turned out to be a big hit at The Daily English Show headquarters. We named it Choco Rice Nom Nom Slice.

To make Choco Rice Nom Nom Slice, mix half a cup of oil with half a cup of sugar. Add two tablespoons of water and mix some more.

Then mix one and a half cups of flour with a quarter of a cup of cocoa.

Then mix it all together and add a cup of puffy rice things. I can’t remember if these are called rice bubbles or rice pops because I threw the box away.

Then pour it all onto some baking paper on a baking tray and get something like this to press it down with.

When it seems like you’ve pressed it enough, tidy up the edges. My corners looked a bit weak so I made them round.

Bake it for 15 minutes at 180 degrees.

Take it out of the oven and leave it to cool down for a while. Then melt ten pieces of chocolate and spread the melted chocolate on top of the slice.

When the chocolate has cooled down, slice it into pieces and put all the beautiful pieces into one container and all the rejects and crumbs into another container … to be eaten as well of course. And put the containers into the freezer.

And when it’s time for some dessert take a piece out of the freezer and eat it with some coffee if you like.

Om nom nom.
